How the SIAA Concept Began

The SIAA networking concept began with the creation of the Satellite Agency Network Group (SAN Group) in 1983 which became the first Master Agency. The idea was to create a Master Agency Profit Center to grow Masiello Insurance Agency, located in Southwestern NH without using agency cash or borrowing to buy agencies, fund producers (every Independent Insurance Agency owner has their own Producer stories), invest in branch offices or give up independence by merging.

It was apparent that agencies were finding it difficult to be competitive and survive due to their lack of size and access to competitive companies. These agencies became the prime prospects for becoming a SAN Group network Independent Strategic Member Agency. These agencies, if qualified, would:

  • Receive increased commission levels!
  • Receive profit sharing with no minimum premium!
  • Be able to compete with any agency of any size!
  • Increase Agency income and value!
  • Maintain the ability to operate independently!

Today, the SAN Group has an agency alliance of over 200 Independent Strategic Member Agencies and writes in excess of $300 million in premiums while averaging $395,000 in revenue per Master Agency employee.

About SIAA

In 1995, at the encouragement of a number of insurance industry executives and consultants, the replication process of the highly successful first Master Agency – Satellite Agency Network Group was initiated, and in 1997, after a pilot program, SIAA was launched. Today, SIAA is the nation’s largest partnering Independent Insurance Agency Network.

Since 1997, SIAA has grown to over $4.6 Billion in premium produced by over 2,300 Independent Insurance Agency Members located in 48 States and Canada, with only 11 domestic Property and Casualty Insurance Companies writing more premium than SIAA!


SIAA averages over $600 million in premium growth and over 300 new Independent Insurance Agency Members annually!  On average, one new Agency joins a SIAA Master Agency Network each business day!

 

The SIAA business plan calls for a network of 4,500 Independent Insurance Agencies producing in excess of $20 billion in premium!


SIAA is not a franchise, cluster or aggregator. SIAA Master Agencies gain much more independence as members of a large national network.

SIAA is dedicated to the creation, retention and growth of the Independent Insurance Agency distribution system. SIAA provides larger regional agencies with a proven turnkey program to allow the creation and development of a valuable network of local independent agencies.

SIAA utilizes its collective strength through traditional and alternative market channels for the purpose of providing insurance consumers competitive choices in addition to providing significant profit and equity appreciation opportunities for SIAA Member Agencies.
